Royal Gridlock 2016, an Inter-School Cultural Mega Fest, showcasing the talents of students from city schools, was held on 26 August 2016. As one among the tri-faceted event of BELIEVE YOU CAN (BYC), organized by SEEK Foundation, in its pursuit of happiness and in association with St. Britto’s Group of Institutions, RGL created a platform for more than 350 students from around 20 schools to perform on and off the stage. Competitions were held in the 3 Ds, viz, Dance, Drama , Drawing and Music for students from KG-XII and included 12 events like, Fantasy freestyle, Ball Room Dance, North Indian Folk Dance, Dance Drama depicting Global Issues ,Retro Fusion , Drama based on Social Themes – English, Tamil Epic, Colouring Aquarium , Drawing a Village Scene , Fantasy Characters , Pencil Sketching and Modern Art. Dr. Thomas Pon Raj, Principal of St. Britto’s College , Mr. Antony Loudsami , Principal, SBM, Mrs. Mary Vasanthakumari, Principal, SBA, Ms. Prema Kumari, Vice-Principal and Ms, Sumathi , Cultural Co-ordinator, jointly lighted the lamp and formally opened the Royal Grid Lock 2016. Judge of the Dance competition , former student of St. Britto’s and Actor – cum- Dancer , Bharath Raj, was all praise for the splendid performance of the participants. Ms. Monica and Ms. Jerosy pronounced the winners of Creative Strokes. English Drama was adjudged by Mr. Saran (HOD, French, St. Britto’s College ), while Epic Drama (Tamil) was adjudicated by Mr. Satheeshwaran (HOD, Tamil, St. Britto’s College ). Actor Thaman Kumar presided over the valedictory function and distributed the prizes to the winners.
